Closeness Effect

How proximally close a person is to the victim influences the likelihood of them helping. Closeness does not just refer to physical nearness, but psychological nearness as well. A feeling of kinship (like being a relative, being in your social group, or even sharing similarities) with the another will increase the likelihood of helping.
