A theory that describes how people are motivated to reach one’s goals. They take on two different focuses, either promotion or prevention. A promotion focus utilizes motivation related to acheiving, accomplishing, or gaining something. A prevention focus utilizes motivation to avoid, secure, and protect from undesirable outcomes.
